I Metalhead - My Vision

So this whole thing began one drunkin night. I got sloshed and decided it would be a great idea to buy a domain. I had been holding on to the name of “I Metalhead” for a while, and boom! What do you know, I have a website. When I sobered up the next morning and got past the whole “What the fuck did I do that for?” phase, I had to sit down and think about what I wanted this to become.

One thing became ultimately clear – I want this to be a community. I want more than just random people coming in and declaring “This (insert band/album/genre/ect) sucks!!” I want this to be a place of discussion. Sure its ok to disagree over genre’s and bands, but with reason. I know metalheads can be very opinionated, but that doesn’t mean that there can’t be reason behind it. Showing a little respect can open people up to new music and widen their palate far more than “You suck!”

The other thing that I want this to become is a repository of metal. Band pages, genre pages, history, culture and more will hopefully grace this site. This is the part that I can control, and will take a while to build. Podcasts will hopefully make a return, as will forums and a general fleshing out of the site. I know it has been a long time, but my goal is to get on this so it can be come a really great site.

Hey there!

Thanks for stopping by our little experiment here! I just wanted to give you all a quick update. I know things have been moving really slow around here, but 2010 is going to be a much better year for I Metalhead. I can’t tell you just yet about what’s going on, but you can expect more site content, forums and other things as we move forward.

I also want to thank those who have helped get us this far. I Metalhead is a place built by amateurs, students and plain old metalheads. We hope to turn this into a place for fans to come and kick it with other fans, share stories and talk about their favorite bands. So keep those devil horns up and have a great 2010!

Metal on!
